Museum Visitation
Several major Australian museums, including Sydney's Powerhouse and National Maritime Museums wanted to determine how proposed changes to their operation would affect admissions. A choice study was conducted producing models that incorporated changes to operating hours, exhibits and admission fees. A total of 20 independent attributes were covered. The models, as is usual, indicated that people want the most for the least. However, because Choice Models captured the relative value of possible changes, meaningful insights were obtained. For example, longer opening hours only matter to visitors during Summer.
